Dragon locations and paths in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Each of these mythical beings comes with its own peculiarities, flight path, elemental hazards — and rewards. Even if you’re well-versed with the dragons from Zelda Breath Of The WilIn the sequel there are several differences to their path and route pattern, plus a brand new dragon.

Tears of the Kingdom: Dragon Locations and Paths

Four dragons are present in the. Tears from the Kingdom Three of the most common types you may have come across in Breath of Wild, and a fourth dragon that’s new to the series.

• FaroshA common sight around Lake Hylia, and Gerudo Canyon.
• NaydraMany times seen near Mount Lanayru, East Necluda.
• DinraalOft seen in the Eldin Mountains or Deep Akkala.
• Light DragonCircumnavigates Hyrule’s exterior.

In-game, the locations for Farosh and Naydra are also listed as common places for Dinraal. They are only meant to be a reference. Each dragon follows its own looping route, which we’ve broken down in more detail below. Dragons can sometimes be found outside their designated regions.

If you’re searching for a dragon along their flight path but don’t see them on the surface, it’s likely that Dragon in the DepthsFarosh and Naydra will also fly through chasms in their respective regions. Light Dragons, on the other hand, are always found at ground level.

Contrary to in Breath of Wild, Tears of Kingdom dragon locations aren’t tied to times of day. Dragons do not follow a straight line, but instead continue to circle. So if you don’t see a dragon on the surface, it’s because they’re probably in the Depths. It’s best to wait or to try and catch the dragons on the opposite side.

Tears of the Kingdom contains dragon materials

The four dragons are a big motivation to find them. Farm materials. You get Dragon scales when you hit them in the body, and you’ll receive Dragon clawsYou can also find out more about the following: dragon horn fragmentsYou will know when you have hit the right spots. Shard spikesThe new type of materials introduced in Tears of KingdomYou can find them on dragons’ backs and pick them up. The dragon elemental powers can be imbued into the weapon to add more damage. You’ll also need to find the Light Dragon if you want to get the Master Sword, which you are able to do fairly early into the game.

Remember to use homing Arrows if you are trying to obtain specific items. In order to know whether a dragon will drop an item or not, pay attention to its body: If it’s glowing, it means the creature can still drop items. If not, you’ll have to wait until the glow returns.

Jumping on a Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom

The first step in mounting a dragon isn’t surprising: you need to gain some altitude. There are two Skyview Towers located around the path of each dragon. You can quickly travel between them and raise yourself, so you can easily see the dragon. Recall can be used on sky rocks or you could build an aircraft using Zonai devices.

Lastly, keep in mind that aside from the Light Dragon, the rest will attack you with their corresponding element — lightning for Farosh, frost for Naydra, and fire for Dinraal. Also, each dragon will have extreme weather conditions related to its element, so you’ll need to prepare accordingly beforehand. Below are details about each element, including how to find and resist it.

Farosh, lightning dragon location

Farosh circles Gerudo Canyon, Mount Nabooru, Mount Hylia, the River of the Dead, and Scout’s Hill before entering the Depths. Next, the Dragon resurfaces at the top of Gerudo Canyon from the south.

You can use the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower or the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower to make it easier for you to see Farosh.

Farosh shoots lightning bolts at those who approach it, and it’s constantly surrounded by an electrical storm. In order to resist Farosh’s lighting, craft elixirs or meals that can grant you resistance to electricity. Rubber Armor is a great way to protect yourself. It provides Link with shock-resistant protection. You can grab the chest piece inside a chest in Whistling Hill Cave — it’s located southeast of Hyrule Field, north of the Teniten Shrine at the coordinates (-0073, -1045, 0019).

Naydra is the frost dragon’s location

Naydra then circles Mount Lanayru and the surrounding mountains, including Walnot Mountain. Kitano Bay is next, followed by Ebon Mountain. After the dragon emerges from the depths of the East Hill chasm, it circles Mount Lanayru.

If you want to see Naydra more easily, climb up the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower as well as Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.

Naydra throws iceballs at people who come close to them. They also freeze the atmosphere around themselves. There are several things you can do to resist the Naydra’s frost. The best way to start is by creating the appropriate elixirs or meals. Also, you can equip yourself with the Snowquill Armor. Dinraal, fire dragon location

Dinraal flies around the outer areas of the Death Mountain, circling East Akkala, North Akkala Beach, Akkala Wilds, Skull Lake, Eldin’s Flank, Darunia Lake, and Thyphlo Ruins. Next, the dragon descends in the Depths before resurfacing from the East Akkala Plains’ chasm.

Dinraal may be difficult to locate, because Death Mountain blocks visibility in certain areas. You can find Dinraal by climbing the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower or ThyphloRuins Skyview Tower.

Dinraal fires fiery balls at anyone who approaches it. The air around them is also dangerously warm. There are several things you can do to resist the Dinraal’s fire. Again, it’s all about taking the elixirs, eating beneficial food, and decking yourself out in strategic armor, like the Desert Voe set. Our guide will show you how to achieve heat resistance.

Light Dragon Location and Path

The Light Dragon is the most elusive of the bunch, as the creature’s route encompasses the entire outskirts of Hyrule. Among the places the Light Dragon flies are Goronbi Lake, Zora’s Domain, Hateno Village, Lindor’s Brow, and Thyphlo Ruins. The upside is that once you do find the Light Dragon, it won’t attack you when you get close to it.
