Dragon Age animated series Absolution coming to Netflix in December
BioWare’s fantasy role-playing game franchise, Dragon Age, is coming to Netflix as an animated series. Netflix has announced The Dragon Age of AbsolutionOn Friday, Geeked Week unveiled a trailer of the animated six-episode series. It will premiere in December.
According to the series’ official description, The Dragon Age of AbsolutionThe story is set in Tevinter – the oldest living human nation in Thedas. It’s ruled over by an imposing, magically-wielding government. Incidentally, Tevinter is said to be the location for BioWare’s next Dragon Age video game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Abssolution promises an “ensemble of new characters inspired by, and authentic to, Dragon Age lore; including elves, mages, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and other special surprises,” according to Netflix.
It is not known if the casting has been confirmed.
The Dragon Age of Absolutionwas produced in partnership with BioWare (Netflix says), and red dog culture house (Red Dog Culture House)Nightmare of the Wolf: The Witcher) and created by showrunner Mairghread Scott, whose writing credits include Transformers: Robots disguisedThe Guardians of the GalaxyThe animated series.
