Donald Glover’s Swarm trailer: Chloe Bailey’s the target of violent fandom

Late last year, Donald Glover’s AtlantaFour seasons later, the actress-musician/multi-hyphenate is done. But the actor-musician multi-hyphenate isn’t slowing down — and might be even revving up to weirder and darker places. He is now working on a new project. Swarm, feels closer to the horror-tinged crescendo of the Childish Gambino “This Is America” video or the Teddy Perkins episode of AtlantaUnlike anything else on the IMDb Page.

Swarm stars Dominique Fishback (Judas and The Black MessiahThe role of Dre is that of a young lady obsessed with the music and a major star. (Chloe Bailey plays Dre). We get a taste of it in the first trailer for the series, which finds Dre muttering the phrase “Who’s your favorite artist?” as bloody mayhem streaks across screen.

The tone feels familiar in a genre reshaped by the films of Jordan Peele, and the plot’s also familiar to anyone who has seen Misty is for Me, MiseryOr Ingrid moves west. However, Glover created and directed the pilot. SwarmIt could take you in every direction. You have many possibilities, and this trailer only hints at a handful.

Glover was co-created SwarmPlaywrights and Watchmen Janine Nabers (writer) is also the showrunner. All episodes are available on Amazon Prime Video, which premieres them all on March 17.
