Does the Holy Cedar Tablet choice matter in Diablo 4?
After the prologue, Diablo 4, you’ll come across a quest called “Rite of Passage” just as you’re attempting to enter Kyovashad — the capital city of the Fractured Peaks region — with Lorath. When you attempt to enter the gate, a guard will block you and instruct you that first you must burn away your sins on a Holy Cedar Tablet.
Does your choice matter? How should you make your choice? Let’s talk about it in this Diablo 4 guide.
The Rite of Passage quest can be completed by completing the Rite of Passage quest
Lorath, on the other hand, plays the part of an old grumbling man who takes enough offense to get through this quest without having to atone. To progress in the story, you will have to pretend that you are sorry.

Is the Holy Cedar Tablet’s inscription important in Diablo 4?
Choose your Holy Cedar Tablet doesn’t matter — as far as we’ve been able to tell — and is just some flavor to show the zealous nature of the Cathedral of Light. It’s always possible Blizzard could do something with the choice later (since everyone has to do it at some point) but it’s unlikely as you can skip the campaign on subsequent playthroughs, and therefore the Holy Cedar Tablet ceremony.
Choose whichever option you’d like. You can choose the sin that you most identify with, or play the role of the character who suffers. Give a huge middle finger to Cathedral of Light, and don’t write anything. The choice is yours and it’s meaningless to everyone but you. This is a rare moment in life — a consequence free decision — so savor it. Or don’t!
