Disney’s Percy Jackson show casts Grover Underwood and Annabeth Chase

Based on the best-selling middle school series, this show takes place in a world that has Greek heroes, gods and monsters. Camp Half-Blood houses the children of Greek gods. Here they can train and hone all their skills.

Simadri plays Grover, Percy’s best friend who is secretly a satyr, a half-man half-goat creature from Greek mythology. Jaffries will play Annabeth Jaffries, an eminent strategist and daughter of Athena. The characters of the film were played by Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson.

The characters will be closer to their book ages than the film, and the TV show will do the same. Rick Riordan shared many of his concerns with previous adaptations, including the issue of aging the characters. Although he’s heavily involved in the production, Riordan recently posted a photograph of himself and his three lead actors on his blog.
