Diablo 4’s second season is full of vampires

Blizzard announced Diablo 4’s second season, which is called Season of Blood. Season of Blood, as you might have deduced from its name, will feature vampires in the main role. We got to see their reign of terror play out — as well as a brief preview of fighting them in game — over the course of an animated teaser during Gamescom 2023.

Season of Blood features a completely new questline and will unlock five new endgame enemies. This season will also bring some improvements to quality of life. The stash is now searchable and can filter and sort gems. It’ll be nice to have extra room in my pockets as I head out to slay vampires and grab loot.

Season Journey allows players to advance their Battle Pass by using characters in a Seasonal Realm. This unlocks new power advancement and seasonal systems. Season Journey offers a variety of challenges that players can complete. These include completing World Events using Mastery, finishing whispers, and upgrading items with the Jeweler or Blacksmith.

The seasons are another way that players can participate. Diablo 4’s endgame, as they add extra content, like quests and blessingss. Season of the Malignant allowed for players to collect Smoldering Ashes that they could then spend on blessings. Players could also unlock Malignant Hearts by slaying Malignant enemies and stealing their hearts — not metaphorically, but as part of a literal process that involved fusing them with jewelry sockets. Season of Blood’s new vampire powers may play out in a similar way.

Season of Blood is set to begin October 17th. In the official blog post, Blizzard says the developer will share more details about the next season “as we approach its release date.”
