Detroit: Become Human is expanding with a manga spinoff

Detroit: Become Human is a game with an intriguing premise — what does a world where robots are on the cusp of their own social justice movement look like? It fails to execute the task with the same political inconsistency that writer David Cage brought to Quantic Dream’s other games. Fans will soon have the opportunity to experience that world in a new medium.

Detroit: Become HumanIs getting a manga spinoff titled Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories. According to the gaming outlet: The manga was written and drawn by Saruwatari Karamami. Dengeki Online. Quantic Dream will oversee the writing process.

Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories, we’ll get to see how androids live and work in Japan. Androids seem to be more accepted than they were initially, and one was even chosen as a pop icon. That idol, Reina, is the manga’s main character, and her story starts off sunny. But, it’s not the same situation as in the original. Detroit: Become Human Game, when the workers are replaced by androids, tensions escalate and eventually lead to revolution.

On the Comic Bridge platform in Japan, it is scheduled to be available on July 22nd. Detroit: Become HumanJapan sold the book very well at launch. This makes it interesting to go back to the original concept. There are no plans yet to release an English-language edition.
