Destiny 2’s Season of the Seraph starts today
Bungie has finally released the trailer for its latest game after weeks of waiting Destiny 2Season of the Seraph on Tuesday morning This season will begin on Tuesday morning and last from Dec. 6 until Feb. 28, 2023. The release of the Season of the Seleraph is also scheduled for Tuesday. Lightfall expansion.
Season of the Seraph sees players team up with the Bray clan to help the Warmind, an AI superpower that was shut down in Season of Arrivals two years back. To help awaken the Warmind and transfer its conciseness into an Exo body (seems like a bad idea, but OK), Guardians will need to go “behind enemy lines” in the new Heist Battlegrounds activity.
The activity appears to be a bit stealthy in nature, with players having to dodge turrets while they enter Hive facilities. The best part about the activity, however, is the fact that at least one scenario takes place on Mars. It’s in an area which was removed with Beyond Light. At the time of this writing, it’s currently unclear if players will be able to roam freely around Mars again, or if the Braytech facilities will only be available in the matchmade missions.
Season of the Seraph includes an Exotic mission for the first-time since 2005. The Witch Queen expansion. The mission is called “Seraph’s Shield” and will take players into space, ala the Deep Stone Crypt raid. For the next three weeks players can return and unlock the Revision Zero Exotic weapon. This will come in time for Christmas. Once players get the weapon, they’ll be able to find and activate multiple different Exotic Catalysts; typically, Exotics only have a single Catalyst, which usually adds a new perk.
The Dawning Christmas event and the annual Moments of Triumph achievement hunt are both back this season. Players will also be able to purchase some Assassin’s Creed crossover armor in the shop. Ezio is the name of Warlocks. Kassandra, for Hunters, can be used by Hunters. Titans are granted Eivor-inspired armor.
Finally, it’s worth noting that players will only have about 12 weeks to complete all that Season of the Seraph has to offer — and that includes unlocking all the elusive weapon patterns. All seasonal content, assuming this season is the same as previous seasons will be gone once the new year begins. Lightfall Expansion launches Feb. 28,
Season of the Seraph also launches alongside a new dungeon this Friday, but Bungie hasn’t revealed any details about the dungeon yet. It’s a separate purchase and won’t be sunset with the rest of the season.
