Destiny 2: Season of the Plunder reveal trailer and details

In addition to next year’s Lightfall expansion, Bungie revealed Destiny 2Season of Plunder during 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase. The season, which is pirate themed, will be Destiny 2’s 18th, and it will also include the return of the King’s Fall raid from the original Destiny. Destiny 2Season of Plunder debuts on Tuesday, one hour after the show’s end.

Guardians, along with their buddies, will team up to attack Fallen ships across the entire system. This includes stopping them in mid-flight and taking their cargo. Guardians can also take some pirate treasure home to use in a wide range of other activities.

Guardians will be able to participate in multiple activities alongside their pirate crew and even pilot their Fallen Ketch. A new drill will allow players to dig for pirate treasure and go after pirate captains who have been hiding in cave lairs.

Arc 3.0 will be introduced this season, which is the last revamped Light subclass. Bungie has already shown how Arc 3.0 works, but the studio showed the upgrades, new abilities and Supers during the showcase.

As for the story, Eramis — the main villain from Destiny 2: Beyond Light — has awoken from her nearly two-year ice nap and is rallying her Fallen forces. Guardians must put an end this situation by working together with their Fallen allies Spider and Mithrax.
