Destiny 2: Lightfall’s loadouts will save Vaulted gear and cosmetics
These capabilities are available to Destiny 2’s loadout manager, which will debut alongside the next major expansion LightfallBungie announced the release date of February 28, 2008.
The loadout system, alongside a revamped mod manager — which sit to the left and the right of the inventory screen, respectively — aims to give players greater flexibility and ease in creating builds to suit different activities.

Although the community already has apps and websites that enable players to save their gear, it is now possible for players to do this in-game.
Not only will loadouts save the set of armor and weapons that have any configured mods, but they also keep subclass settings. This includes individual attributes and abilities as well cosmetics, like ornaments, shaders, and even makeup. Once configured, loadouts can then be labelled with an icon and a list of ready-made names based on a range of activities, such as “Raid” or “Gambit.”

The loadout software will be able pull items from Vaults and automatically equip characters with them, as long as they have enough inventory. However, it will not place gear back into the Vault again when changing loadouts — but this is something Bungie might consider at a later time.
“That’s a problem that we might look into addressing in the future,” design lead Xavier Durand-Hollis Jr said during a recent press event attended by Polygon. “For now, it’ll just pull from the Vault and have it on your character. That’ll be for players to manage, either with whatever tooling you are currently using, or using the Vault system in-game.”

Bungie also stated that loadouts can be swapped at any moment, except for loadout-locked activities like endgame Nightfalls.
Bungie has also stated that you can unlock more loadout slots as you progress through the Guardian Ranks process, which gives players greater direction on how to proceed.
