Destiny 2 details weapon crafting, new third perk slot

Bungie released one of the biggest and best blog posts we’ve seen for Destiny 2It was Thursday in the past. The document details the major weapon modifications that will be made. Destiny 2 With The Witch Queen On February 22, the studio expanded with weapon crafting, and Origin, a new type of perk. Studio also worked on some patch note-like, smaller changes that will come later in the month.

The game will allow players to make weapons right from scratch The Witch QueenThanks to the Enclave new location. Within the first two missions, Guardians will be able to gain access this location. The Witch QueenLearn how it works (free for all players). Destiny 2 The new expansion will allow players to start crafting their Glaive. The Enclave will allow Guardians to go on the galactic streets and start creating their weapons.

You will need materials, a pattern (which Bungie calls a blueprint), and the ability to craft. Once players have collected a Pattern for a weapon, they can craft it over and over again, or simply modify one they’ve already created. You can find these Patterns from many places including quests and activities.

Deepsight Resonance weapons can unlock new perks, traits and perks that players can use to create weapons. They are unique weapons that have a red border and come with their own quests. Guardians can extract the essence of these weapons and use them to kill others.

These weapons will now be customizable with Mementos, a brand new type of cosmetic. Gambit will be the first to see the Memento, with more Mementos appearing in Trials of Osiris or Grandmaster Nightfalls. Bungie intends to make these cosmetics available for players in the late game to let them customize their weapons’ appearance. The blog post didn’t mention if Bungie will monetize Mementos through the Eververse store or not.

However, Guardians shouldn’t make new weapons when there are already powerful ones in the Vault. That’s a problem Bungie tried to solve with sunsetting in Beyond Light — a practice it quickly abandoned. Bungie might have found a better way to solve this problem with their new Origin perk program.

Each weapon starts in The Witch Queen — new or reissued — will drop with a third perk called an Origin. This is a situational perk that’s useful in specific activities or under certain circumstances. While some weapons may come with several Origin perks to help you, players are limited to one per weapon.

Bungie provided a handful of examples from the 14 new Origins, with more on the way.

  • Trials of Osiris: Alacrity: Increase your reload, stability and aim help when you’re the last member of your team or run solo
  • The Amazing Recovery (Nightfalls:) Stunning a Champion can partially fill your magazine and trigger health regeneration. This will improve recovery for a very short time.
  • One Quiet moment (Crucible: Increases reload speed after combat.
  • Vanguard’s Vindication (Strikes): Final blows with this weapon grant a small amount of health
  • Suros Synergy: This weapon gives you bonus handling, and temporarily reduces the incoming flinch.
  • Häkke Breach Armaments (Häkke foundry): This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles, turrets, barricades, and Stasis crystals
  • Omolon Fluid Dynamics (Omolon Foundry): The weapon’s reload speed has been increased and the stability of the top-half of the magazine is improved
  • Veist Stinger (Veist foundry): Chance on damage to partially refill this weapon’s magazine

Weapons in the arsenal will be able to take advantage of these perks in addition to two utility/damage perks. The Witch Queen The new weapons and those that follow will undoubtedly be better than existing weapons. However, unlike with sunsetting in 2020, players will still be able to use their non-Origin weapons without penalty — even if it will technically be suboptimal.

As a patch preview Bungie will be changing many weapon types and Exotics. The blog post rests on the remainder of this blog. Exotic primary weapons will do 40% more damage to enemies of minor levels. This is the biggest change. For more of the weapon balance changes, check out Bungie’s blog post.

The Witch Queen looks to be shaking up Destiny more than we’ve seen since the Forsaken In 2018, expansion. These changes may not be as successful as we would like, but the weapon crafting and Origin rewards should provide plenty of excitement for Guardians who are dedicated.
