Demon Slayer season 2 will be released on Dec. 10, after prequel arc

Demon SlayerIt is nearly back for the second season. However, before it returns the anime will receive a short arc that cuts the episodes. Mugen Train movie into seven episodes. The arc will begin on October 10, and continue until the end of November. Demon SlayerSeason 2 will release on December 5.

Demon Slayer’s return to the Mugen Train arc won’t be exactly what fans saw in theaters. Instead, the short prequel arc will try to seamlessly bridge the gap between the anime’s first and second seasons by expanding the movie into seven separate episodes with several new scenes. This arc will include an original episode, set before the film’s events.

Also for Demon Slayer’s actual second season, it will start off with a special hour-long episode when it premieres on Sunday, Dec. 5. The anime’s second season will follow the events of the manga’s Entertainment District arc, which will introduce the series’ latest major demon, Daki.

Funimation, Hulu, Crunchyroll and the Mugen Train Arc are all available on the Funimation site. Funimation hasn’t announced platforms for season 2, however.
