Deathloop Hits Xbox Next Week, New Update Includes Extended Ending, Crossplay, And More
Arkane Studios’ Deathloop game for PlayStation 5 is now coming to Xbox. The game’s latest update will be available across all platforms and includes an extended Deathloop end, Crossplay, as well as other features.
More specifically, Deathloop will hit Xbox Series/X and PC on September 20, and if you’re a Game Pass member, it will be available there on day one. PlayStation Plus will launch the game that same day. Premium Extra and Premium Members can download it as well. It will also be available on PlayStation Plus that day. The update to Goldenloop will include new enemies, weapons and abilities as well as other enhancements for Deathloop.
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
Crossplay
There will be crossplay for PvP matchmaking across PSN, Xbox, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, and you can set your cross-platform matchmaking settings to “Any” (all platforms) or “Same” (just your platform). You can also adjust your crossplay settings based on controller, meaning you can make it where you’ll only play against players using the same controller as you, or you can make it so that any controller is fine against you.
“Xbox console and PC versions will also feature cross-purchase and cross-save, so if you purchase Deathloop through the Microsoft Store on either Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to play it on your other Microsoft platforms and pick up right where you left off,” Bethesda says in a new blog post about today’s news.
Neue Fugue Ability
You can temporarily make your target uninhabitable by throwing a projectile at them. Bethesda says it makes them “tipsy,” essentially. Fugue also includes four upgrades that can be discovered:
- Coda• Extended Duration
- Earworm: Cast a Fugue “mine” on a surface
- Discord: Target turns hostile to its allies
- Syncopation: On target’s death, Fugue affects nearby enemies
Bethesda says you may be able find the Fugue ability. Karl’s BayIn the afternoon.
Halps Prototype: New Weapon
Bethesda claims that the energy-based weapon fires an intense laser beam like beam which cuts through enemy with great precision. The beam can be fired at a camera, turret, or security camera in order to reflect the beam back and strike your foes with bank shot shots.
Paint-Bomber is a new enemy
Paint-Bombers are new NPC enemies that strap bandoliers of paint-filled explosives to themselves, and when close to you, they’ll explode in a colorful fashion.
New Ability Upgrades: New Upgrades For Julianna’s Masquerade Ability
Julianna’s Masquerade ability was previously the only one in Deathloop without its own upgrades, but the Goldenloop update changes that.
- EnsembleYou can target up to 3 NPCs using Masquerade
- MendUse Masquerade to restore your health on an NPC
- ExposeColt automatically tags NPCs affected by Masquerade when they spot Colt or die.
- IncognitoMasquerade damage is transformed to Energy
2 in 1 Trinkets New
Bethesda says it has added 19 new trinkets to Deathloop, but these trinkets aren’t like the ones you’re used to because they’re 2-in-1 trinkets that combine the abilities of two already in the game. Wrecking Ball, for example, combines the Sprinter trinket (move faster), and Unstoppable Force trinket (damage an opponent by sprinting into them). Rolling In It mixes Deep Pockets with Stab N Grab to deliver more ammunition and melee kills.
Bethesda finally teases Deathloop’s new ending, saying that other surprises are in store.
