Dead Space Remake Gets January 2023 Release Date
Motive and EA revealed today that Dead Space Remake is coming out at the beginning of next year.
The remake from the ground up of 2008’s sci-fi horror survival horror film will be available on January 27, 2023. This was revealed by some Motive members in an exclusive livestream, which aired today. Back in March, the team showcased some new gameplay in a livestream focused on the remake’s audio development and today’s stream was all about the visuals of Dead Space. The team also shared new gameplay and the official release date for January at the conclusion of the stream.
The gameplay video isn’t live at the time of this writing so we can’t link you there just yet if you missed it during the livestream. We have captured some screenshots from the stream to hopefully help you get by for now.
According to Motive, this gameplay is technically pre-alpha but the team said the game’s visual and environmental team worked hard to elevate this to a state they’d consider greater than pre-alpha. Motive claimed that it is more in line with the quality the studio recommends players expect for the game’s entirety.
“[It’s] not ready to ship, but it’s getting closer,” one of them remarked during the segment before another revealed the team recently completed its first full walkthrough of the remake.
As for when we’ll see Dead Space again, Motive said it anticipates doing a gameplay-focused reveal or livestream in October, closer to Halloween. That’s perfect timing because it’s just a few months before its January 27, 2023 release date. You can also check out March’s gameplay render while you wait for the reveal of gameplay.
How do you think this Dead Space Remake looks? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
