Dead by Daylight’s holiday event introduces jolly snowmen

Dead by Daylight may be a horror game where a handful of survivors try to escape their inevitable murder at the hands of serial killers, but that doesn’t mean developer Behaviour isn’t adding a fun seasonal event. Dead by Daylight opens the Bone Chill Event on Thursday. It will run through Friday morning, 23rd.

Bone Chill adds an entirely new mechanic to the game: the friendly Snowman. At the beginning of each trial, six Snowmen will spawn. Survivors can hide inside the Snowmen, or use them while fleeing to absorb a Killer’s attack. Killers can destroy idle Snowmen on the map — which is pretty lethal for any Survivors hiding inside.

Snowmen can be either Killers, Survivors or both. This allows players to earn custom cosmetics such as ugly Christmas sweaters and other accessories for their characters. For Killers, however, you can unlock frosty weaponry.

Daily login rewards have been offered by Behaviour for holidays, starting Dec. 1 and ending Jan 6. Logging in allows players to receive various types of currency. To brighten up the holiday season, festive lights are added to the props found around maps. The game’s most recent chapter, A Murder for Crows, introduced a new Killer, Survivor, and map to the mix.
