D&D Campaign Cases with maps and creature tokens arrive in July

As it slowly becomes safer to move your weekly game of Dungeons & Dragons away from the computer and back to the table, virtual tools like Roll20 will continue to be an option. But it’s also time for DMs to start thinking about physical maps and miniatures once again. Luckily, in an announcement at today’s D&D Direct event, Wizards of the Coast has you covered.

Campaign Cases are a feast for the eyes. The Campaign Cases provide everything needed to create two-dimensional maps or environments. The Creatures Case includes 64 customizable tokens in three sizes (and four colors) with a nice mix of what look like one, two, and three inch tokens to represent D&D’s small, medium, and large creatures. You will find 159 illustrated and removable reusable stickers that match the size of the case. They can be used to cover many creatures, including kobolds and umber hulks and dragons.

Terrain Case includes 30 interlocking tiles and a foldable map. It measures 22 by 18 ins. Both the tiles and maps are double-sided and show snowy terrain and grassy terrain. Terrain Cases come with the same type reusable cling stickers that the Creature Cases. They represent things such as campfires and trees. The announcement didn’t mention if the map and tiles would be dry erase friendly.

The cases are packaged in an easy-to-transport keepsake box that includes compartments for various components as well as a handle. Campaign Cases will be available on July 19, although no pricing information was provided during the presentation. The pre-orders are open now.
