David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will play Superman and Lois Lane

Superman: Legacy has found it’s Superman: David Corenswet (PearlDeadline reported that Rachel Brosnahan will be playing Clark Kent, in the upcoming Warner Bros. film. Rachel Brosnahan (The Amazing Mrs. MaiselThe film will be directed by, who is also the investigative journalist Lois Lane.

That makes Corenswet and Brosnahan the first known faces of the first new live-action film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s fresh start to Warner Bros.’ slate of movies based on DC Comics characters.

Gunn tweeted in confirmation of the news, saying “They are not only both incredible actors, but also wonderful people.”

Audiences are most likely to recognize Corenswet from his brief appearance in Ti West’s period slasher PearlHe plays a smooth and seductive movie projector. While that role doesn’t exactly scream Clark Kent, there’s a certain charm that both characters share — and Pearl He certainly had the appearance of an All American boy.

Brosnahan was best known as the star of The Amazing Mrs. MaiselHer performance on Amazon Prime Video won her an Emmy, two Golden Globes and a Grammy. She also appeared in House of CardsThe 2022 Walter Hill Western Death for DollarsShe also appeared in a Quibi viral short, where she played a woman who was obsessed with the golden arm.

Deadline stated that Gunn/Safran will soon be casting the role of iconic Superman villain Lex Luthor as well as quintessential Superman’s friend Jimmy Olsen.

Superman: LegacyThe film is scheduled to be released in theaters on 11th July 2025.
