Danny Ricciardo has an F1 show planned at Hulu, per report

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McLaren Racing driver Danny Ricciardo will produce a live-action series set in Formula 1 for Hulu. Although the show will likely have two-hour episodes (but not much else), it is still expected that there will be more information about the project.

This is the latest in a slate of projects around F1, the highest-profile motorsport competition in the world, since the success of Netflix’s popular and critically acclaimed docuseries To Survive, Drive. F1 is seeing a huge rise in popularity, especially in the United States. As one of the main focal points in the first season, Ricciardo from Australia was one of F1’s breakout stars.

Ricciardo’s project joins the recently announced F1 movie starring Brad Pitt and helmed by Maverick: Top Gun director Joseph Kosinski. Apple recently bought the movie. The film will portray Pitt as a veteran driver who retires to help a newer driver. Lewis Hamilton, seven-time F1 champion, will produce it. Apple will release a documentary on Hamilton’s life and career, which is one of the greatest athletes his generation.
