Dandadan vol 1 releases this week, and it’s a feast for any manga reader
Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga series Dandadan This is both a visual feast and a captivating story. With Viz releasing its first collected English volume, it’s the perfect time for me to talk about one of the few manga actually I look forward to reading Everywhere week.
Momo Ayase is a believer in spirits but not aliens. Ken Takakura is not a believer in spirits but believes that aliens exist. Ayase challenges Takakura and Takakura to visit a haunted area and Takakura dares Takakura for a meeting with aliens. They are granted special abilities which allow them to travel into alien and occult worlds.
When I discovered this, I was eager to create the post. Dandadan It was receiving its first trade book. But it is important to note that there are times when the series gets a bit too much fan service. It’s not difficult to read the first chapter, but it may be too much for some people.
You can find the rest at Dandadan, however, It’s a great series, with many twists and exciting reveals. The series’ meat is its art. Author and artist Yukinobu Tatsu uses dynamic poses with extreme perspective and detail to accentuate Takakura’s superspeed even beyond what we could imagine.

An exaggerated, curved perspective is also used by the artist when characters want to achieve something far away using Rapunzel hair. But that perspective isn’t only used for the action sequences. Tatsu uses two-page spreads to exaggerate Takakura and Ayase’s horror stories, creating a sense of panic and dread. With the hyper-detailed scary faces of the aliens and spirits they fight, you’re put in their shoes; these monsters are terrifying, and the duo is often up the creek without a paddle.

I’m reminded of the series, which combines humor with amazing action sequences in a funny way. Gintama. You have your more serious long arcs with jokes sprinkled in, but you’ll have more goofy one-offs that end with a punchline.
