Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Expansion Out Next Year

CD Projekt Red has unveiled the first Cyberpunk 2077 story expansion called Phantom Liberty will be released next year.

This information was made public during tonight’s Night City Wire Livestream. It is the same livestream where CDPR and Netflix revealed the English Dub. Cyberpunk: Edgerunnners sounds like. It was revealed by CDPR shortly thereafter, and it is great. This adds more to V’s story. They become a kind of secret agent in the New United States of America. It also marks the return of Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeves.

You can see the Cyberpunk2077: Phantom Liberty expansion trailer below

The trailer for the expansion is brief and sweet but packs quite a punch. The narrator is just as likely to be Johnny Silverhand, the president of New United States of America. The trailer also seems to have some brand new weapons and locations, though that is still not confirmed.

CDPR claimed that the streaming stream was “a new type of plot” and will include a different cast of characters. (V, naturally). The team has not specified where the event will take place but stated that it will be primarily in Night City.

CDPR also detailed the changes in the 1.6 update in the stream. This includes a major overhaul of Cyberpunk 2077’s police system, and vehicle-to–vehicle combat mechanisms. The perk tree will get a lot of changes and there will be a new loop for melee fighting. Nibbles will the cat available for photo mode. The update includes an updated transmog system, arcade cabinets playable, and a jacket/waffe inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Finaly, the team stated Update 1.6 will mark the end of major updates for older-gen consoles. From now on, all future updates will only be made available to current-generation consoles or PC. However, they will still monitor older-gen versions and do maintenance as required to make sure that the game runs smoothly.
