Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.61 fixes a raft of bugs and issues
There is war Cyberpunk 2077’s bugs continues: Developer CD Projekt Red has issued a new update for the notoriously unstable blockbuster game. Update 1.61 introduces several fixes.
There’s a particular focus on quest and mission bugs, as well as visual and gameplay issues. There’s even a fix for the game’s doomed Stadia edition.
There are also numerous examples of the classically surreal patch note from the masters of the art at CD Projekt Red who brought you “Geralt’s clothes will no longer be wet after leaving the menu.” For example:
- “Fixed an issue where putting a corpse into a container or a trunk, walking away and then coming back could give a player an infinite amount of money.”
- “Fixed the issue where V’s breasts clipped through clothes after changing their size at a Ripperdoc.”
- “Night City NPCs will now carry umbrellas in various colors and shapes.”
- “Fixed an issue where it wasn’t possible to reach the Cyberpsycho because the garage door didn’t open.”
- “It will no longer be possible to play on arcade machines that are placed horizontally.”
Any remaining Stadia players will no longer face an issue where the game didn’t pause when gameplay was suspended. Cross progression features now allow Xbox One saves to transfer to PC and PlayStation. Epic Games Store achievements will now function properly. The good news is that Judy will not randomly vanish from her apartment.
Patch sizes reported by players vary between 6 GB and 63 GB depending on which platform. Make sure that you download your patch early to ensure you can play.
Polygon is being reexamined Cyberpunk 2077 after patch 1.5 earlier this year, and found that “a pretty good game” had been salvaged from its disastrous launch. The work isn’t done yet. Maybe it never will. Cyberpunk 2077 Major expansion is planned. Phantom LibertyIn 2023, a sequel will be released.
