Cyberpunk 2077 New-Gen Update Now Live, Includes AI And Driving Overhauls, New Weapons, Better Crowds, And More

CD Projekt Red’s recent RPG, 2020’s Cyberpunk 20,77 is now available on consoles with new-gen hardware. Patch 1.5 is the latest version of the game and is now available on PlayStation 5 (X/S) and Xbox Series X/S.

As expected, this patch brings a wealth of changes to the game’s systems and gameplay, including AI overhauls, big changes to driving, new apartments to rent, changes to the open-world map, and of course, different modes to experience Cyberpunk 2077. You can expect a Performance Mode on PS5 or Xbox Series X, which runs the game at 60FPS and features dynamic framerate-dependent scaling. CD Projekt Red warns that in Performance mode players might experience rare and small framerate drops. This mode will not have ray-tracing and the screen space reflections quality is Medium/Half Resolution.

The Ray-Tracing Mode is the best option if you want to see a Ray-traced Night City. The game runs at 30FPS, with scaling 4K resolution and ray-traced shadows. This mode also offers “High/Half Resolution SSR Quality”. Only the Xbox Series S has the Performance mode, which runs the game at 30FPS at a 1440p resolution with “Medium/Half” SSR quality.

There are many improvements to Patch 1.5 in the areas of bug fixing, changes, and improvements. For a full breakdown, you can read CD Projekt’s Red full patch notes list, but here’s the gist:

Below are the top talking points from today’s Cyberpunk2077 stream.

  • Reworked Perk TreesIf you choose to pick up an older save, all of your perks are unassigned and you will need to reassign them due to the changes in perk tree. There will be new branches and some removals of perks. You can also add new perks.
  • AI combatting changes: The AI enemy reacts better to players reactions. It is also easier to combat.
  • DrivingNew burnout models were implemented. This gives you more control and makes AI driving more predictable. Additionally, vehicles are heavier and have better braking. The suspension is better and drifting feels more real. Redesigned interiors and dashboards are also available for first-person.
  • Night CityCD Projekt Red claims that crowds are more responsive to you and your actions. Based on your actions, crowd members might shoot at you or run from you.
  • TrafficDuring the day, drivers drive more accurately and pedestrians are present more often.
  • MapGigs don’t reveal their types, so additional colors were added to the map.
  • EconomyThe best part about this is that you’ll get more money for doing quests or gigs. Also, items and vehicles will be less expensive. New items and sales have been added to the stores, as well as new weapons aesthetics.
  • Home: In your apartment’s mirror, you can change the appearance of yourself at any time. There are additional appearance options available, including new hair types, new makeup colors, new makeup colors, and extra colors.
  • EZ EstatesIt’s a brand new application that you install on your computer. You can modify the aesthetic of your apartment, as well as find new apartments to lease.
