Cyberpunk 2077 Anime, Edgerunners, Gets Gory Trailer And Release Month

Two years ago we first learned of Cyberpunk2077’s anime, which was months before its official release. Today, a new and gory mini trailer revealed the flashy grittiness of the upcoming Netflix show.

In the clip above, you can see the Marauder Gang. A ransom agreement is made between the criminal group, which is known for their obsession with prosthetic enhancements. A small fridge-like apparatus is used to store a woman until it’s time for her to be rescued. It’s Night City after all. Violence follows. Limbs are hacked off and blown to bits in eye-popping fashion, which might be no surprise as the acclaimed Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, PromareArt direction and animation are handled by. As the music adds flavor and cacophony to the bloody action, we can’t hear dialogue. However, we can still see the similarities between CD Projekt Red and this scene. 

Although not much information is available about anime, the Netflix blurb on the YouTube video says the following:

“The series tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City – a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he stays alive by becoming an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.” 

So, the show will be in the same universe that the game. In September we may even see and hear V’s adventures!
