Owlcat Games is an ambitious, young studio based in Nicosia. It started as a project by some game developers who wanted to develop a classic single-player role-playing game. They’ve made a name for themselves with Pathfinder: Kingmaker back in 2018, and now their second game—Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous—is available on Xbox.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the RighteousIt is an indirect follow-up to Kingmaker – PathfinderThis takes place five years following the events that took place in Mendev’s first national game. Queen Galfrey (the ever-young queen) has been fighting the demonic invaders for over a century. Now it’s your turn to take up on the role of the Knight-Commander of the new crusade, and make a difference in the stalemate against the demonic forces.

New classes, feats, and abilities are not the only addition to the game’s mechanical part, however. There are many other ways to get involved. Pathfinder: Wrath of the RighteousYou will be able to access mythic abilities that can help you rival the Demon Lord and unravel their plans. The mythic abilities will allow you to access unique spells, abilities and can even transform you into another being. A righteous angel or demon, freedom-loving Azata or a lich who controls the undead. An Aeon is a cosmic protector, a Gold Dragon who heals and comforts those who are most in need, or an Insatiable Swarm that Walks. It will never stop until it devours all of the world. And if none of these paths suit you, you can choose the path of a Legend, a hero who doesn’t need mythic powers and draws strengths from their own heart.

You won’t go on this adventure alone—you will be accompanied by a cast of diverse characters who will help you along the way. Some of them will offer you their friendship, others will be difficult to win over; and there are even a number of characters who will fall in love with you, including a former succubus who dreams of redemption—Arueshalae, familiar to those who played the tabletop version of the Adventure path.

Crusade is a strategic addition to the game that will put you in the role of a knight-commander. To defeat the demonic hordes you will need to recruit troops and generals, as well as win valuable trophies and the Worldwound’s treasures. Construct fortifications to protect the land you’ve conquered. Make important decisions like establishing supply routes, recruiting Mendev political powers, and setting up the training of your soldiers.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the RighteousThe PRG, which is truly mythic in scale, takes you on an 80-hour journey to Mendev, the desolated Worldwound, or even to an alien chaos realm called the Abyss. Inspire, love, hate, betray and lead your followers to a victory—or a fate worse than death. Today is the start of your crusade.
