Creed 3’s box office returns are already breaking records
The third film in the Creed trilogy has arrived and star/director Michael B. Jordan’s franchise is showing no signs of slowing down. Creed 3The film opened to remarkable box office returns. It earned nearly $59 Million in the United States, and almost $100 million internationally. These numbers were well beyond its predictions in both areas.
This remarkable total is a record for Rocky, and it earned more than all the movies that were released in their first weekends. Creed 2It came close, but it still ranks second in terms of openings at $35 million. Creed 3 also debuted to the highest opening of any sports movie, an historic feat — even if the genre doesn’t generally match the earnings of other top blockbusters.
Although it’s the ninth Rocky film and third in the Creed franchise, this is Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut. Jordan stated that anime had a significant influence on the movie and his own style. Jordan has also made it clear that this isn’t the end of his ambitions to make movies with Creed 3Jonathan Majors is the co-star, and the pair stated in an interview that they hoped for the role of Robert de Niro or Al Pacino.
