Cooperative Shooter Arc Raiders Makes Its Gameplay Debut

Arc Raiders will be a cooperative free-to play shooter developed by Embark Studios. This studio is made up of former DICE employees, who previously worked on Battlefield. Embark took to The Game Awards to unveil its project, Arc Raiders, offering our first big look at the game in action.

Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”, as our trailer’s tune, brought us up to dangerous mechanized threats from outer space. You must help your team defeat them. There will naturally be lots of gunfire, explosions, and other commotion. However, the trailer also shows huge mechanized machines that cover almost the entire screen. This gives the fights an “Avatar versus Goliath” feel. You are playing as the underdog and must work together with your team to shoot off enemy parts and make sure everyone stays alive. A character runs towards the gigantic being, and then throws a gun at it. The trailer ends by saying: “They will never stop coming,” and shows an armored baddie with red eyes rising. The game’s description on Steam says players will wield tools and gadgets to outsmart the enemy and use physics to their advantage for success. 

Arc Raiders for PS5, Xbox Series S/X/S and PC will debut in 2022.
