Cookie Run: Kingdom and Disney announce in-game collaboration
Disney will sprinkle some magic dust over the confection-fuelled world. Cookie Run: Kingdom. Late Tuesday night, Devsisters (the creators the mobile game for free) teased that they would be collaborating with Disney. The details are scant for now, but the official Twitter account said that more information would be “coming soon.”
“A very peculiar Cookie Cutter has been discovered!” said a tweet Tuesday night. A message and an image were posted to the account by the user along with the original message.
Cookie Run: Kingdom It’s a mobile game in which you take on the role of a cookie and help build a city. Although it’s popular, it’s not exactly known for getting buckets of brand collaborations. Before this announcement, it was known for a unique collaboration with Sega which brought the official Sonic and Tails cookies characters to the game.
Cookie Run: KingdomIt uses a gacha-style free-to-play model that allows players to gamble in order to unlock specific characters. This isn’t the first time Disney has moved into the gacha space. A second game is Disney Twisted WonderlandTo unlock the anime boys, the game uses a gacha system. This franchise received an English locale in the early 2022, and will also get a Disney Plus anime.
Again, details are still scant, but if this collaboration is anything like the one with Sega, it’s possible we’ll get some Disney-themed levels and quests, along with playable cookie-themed versions of popular characters like Mickey Mouse.
