Control studio Remedy is making a free-to-play shooter with Tencent

Remedy revealed first details about its forthcoming multiplayer shooter. It is codenamed “Remedy”, VanguardThe free-to-play shooting game, titled ‘The Game of the Century’ will be released in collaboration with Tencent.

Vanguard will be a co-op PvE shooter that “combines Remedy’s narrative expertise and action gameplay into an immersive multiplayer experience,” the company said in its announcement. The game will be developed using the Unreal Engine and will mark Remedy Entertainment’s first foray into developing a games-as-service title.

Remedy formed the core team of the game back in 2018, to develop a continuous live-multiplayer online game. The announcement states that the game will be available in English. Vanguard is currently in the proof-of-concept stage — in other words, it’s still pretty early in development. When it’s released, VanguardRemedy will publish the article in all non-Asia countries. Tencent will then localize and publish it. Tencent will also have the rights to develop a mobile version. Vanguard As well.
