Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year EditionOn the 18th of November!

We have had an extraordinary journey ever since our launch Microsoft Flight SimulatorPC. It was immediately received by the core flight simmer community.

Our launch was in July 2021. Microsoft Flight SimulatorS was launched and millions of players have embraced the flight simulation game.|S and welcomed millions of console players to the flight simulation experience. To help novices enter Microsoft Flight Simulator, we introduced Discovery Flights, enhanced tutorials, Flight Advisor, Map Labels and Land Anywhere. This update brought many enhancements to the simulator, as well as significant performance improvements that were helpful for the PC community.

The launch was only the start. We have provided major updates over the last 14 months: six Sim Updates and six World Updates. These update are designed to improve your experience. Today, we’re happy to share the following: Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the year (GOTY) Edition. This new edition celebrates all the positive feedback, reviews and awards garnered, but it is also a “Thank You” to our fans – new and old – that have made Microsoft Flight SimulatorThis is a very rare phenomenon.

The GOTY Edition includes the following:

New Aircraft

Five brand-new aircraft are being added to our fleet. Microsoft Flight SimulatorThis is:

• Boeing F/A-18 Super HornetThis is our first military aircraft and was highly sought after by the community. We will be releasing the Top Gun: Maverick sequel next spring, but we want simmers to experience the thrill of speed on this holiday.
• VoloCity: We partnered with well-known German company Volocopter, which is working on an eVTOL called “VoloCity”, a vision for an urban air taxi. To create an accurate replica of the aircraft prototype for the simulator, we worked closely with Volocopter’s engineering team. This prototype aircraft can make precise landings. The sim will soon launch helicopters.
• Pilatus PC-6 PorterThis famous short takeoff/landing utility aircraft (STOL) is from Switzerland. There are many options for cockpit configurations, cabin sizes, landing gear and other features. This aircraft is the product of close cooperation with the manufacturer. The development effort by Hans Hartmann (developer) and Alexander Metzger (developer) resulted into a unique and enjoyable new aircraft that has exceptional capabilities in the simulator.
• CubCrafters NX Cub: CubCrafters, Yakima, recently added a nosewheel option on their flagship CC-19 XCub Aircraft. The NX Cub is the name of the NX Cub.
• Aviat Pitts Exclusive S1SThis aircraft is a one-seater version of one of our most beloved planes.

There are 8 new airports being constructed in Central Europe and America.

Game of the Year releases information on 545 missing US airports.

Neue Missions

Due to the success of Discovery Flights we have added 6 more locations (Helsinki and Freiburg im Breisgau), Mecca, Monument Valleys, Singapore, Mount Cook, and Mecca) to the series.

New Tutorials

We are adding 14 tutorials that will help you get started onboarding. They introduce simmers to bush flying (in an Icon A5) or IFR (in a Cessna 17.2).

Brand New Features

Also, we are pleased to offer several requested features to the community, including an updated weather and DX12 early access, as well a devmode replay system.

Photogrammetry in New Cities

In our ongoing partnership with Bing Maps we’re pleased to offer a variety of photogrammetry destinations: Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau and Newcastle (Finland), as well as Nottingham, Utrecht and Nottingham (UK).
