Cities: Skylines Gets Remastered For PS5 And Xbox Series X/S Next Week

For many Cities: Skylines has been a top city-building simulation. The PC was launched in 2015. It quickly gained popularity among those unhappy with modern SimCity titles. Two years after the PC version of SimCity arrived, its less intuitive controls did little to hinder the game’s ability to deliver an amazing city-building experience. Developer Paradox Interview and developer Colossal Order have now announced Cities: Skylines Remastered. This improves console gamers’ experience in many ways.

Cities: Skylines is a new game that allows players to create larger and more successful metropolises. In addition to the obvious graphical and performance upgrades enabled by the newer hardware, players can take their city-planning skills to the next level with up to 25 buildable tiles instead the 9 on PS4 and Xbox One versions. Players can also look forward to an easier-to-use selection tool and user-experience enhancements like precise placements and updated snapping options. A new environment control panel and map editor are some of the other features.

Perhaps most importantly, anyone who owns the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version and its DLC will receive Cities: Skylines Remastered and DLC (up to the Airports expansion) for free on their respective console family. For $40, those who do not own the latest-gen console version of Cities: Skylines can get it for free.

Here’s a brief glimpse of some improvements that the team made to this version.

Skylines: Cities Remastered is available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S starting February 15. These remastered DLCs will soon be made available.
