Cities: Skylines 2 sequel announced for 2023 at Paradox showcase
Skylines for Cities 2, the sequel to Paradox Interactive’s highly successful 2015 city-builder, is in development and coming soon, the publisher announced on Monday during a livestream showcase of coming attractions.
The presentation featured news of the sequel and announcements about expansions as well as DLC for Grand Strategy Mainstays. Crusader Kings 3And Europa Universalis 4, A brand-new turn-based strategy game, called Lamplighters League.
The show was followed by a press release. Cities: Skylines 2 would allow players to develop municipalities that grow “from a humble village to a bustling metropolis … complete with fully realized transport and economy systems, a wealth of construction and customization options, and advanced modding capabilities.”
Cities: Skylines 2 Paradox Interactive announced that the game will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2023. Colossal Order from Finland developed the original. Skylines of Cities both a commercial and critical success, and easily overtook Maxis’ SimCity franchise following the disastrous launch of its 2013 reboot, which ultimately led to that studio’s closure.

- Lamplighters League, from Battletech developer Harebrained Schemes, is a “pulp adventure set in an alternate 1930s,” Paradox said in a statement. It involves a group of adventurers taking control of a small team that is fighting an evil cabal intent on destroying the world. Gameplay includes “real-time infiltration, turn-based tactical combat, and managing a growing team of misfits.” The Lamplighters League, and the Tower at the End of the World This title (in full) will launch on Windows PCs and Xbox Series X late in 2023.

- Crusader Kings3: Tournaments and ToursThe sixth expansion will be available in the 2020 game. It allows players to organize or watch jousting tournaments or other martial games in their kingdom. This will allow them to advance their political goals, consolidate power or exact revenge. “Dozens of new events” are promised in this expansion.
- Europa Universalis4: Domination This will mark the 20th expansion of the game’s global grand strategy, launched on PC 10 years ago. The expansion gives several nations new military units and political estates to manage, plus “dozens of historical events that make the history of the early modern world come vividly to life.”
- The Aftermath and Rebirth: Surviving This expansion will be added to the 2021 sci fi colony builder. It will introduce terraforming to the players’ world, granting them “the power to modify and revitalize the environment for their colonists.”
