Devotees are a group that is inspired by medieval Latin Europe and ancient Middle Eastern civilisations. Determining the number of languages was tough, but we settled on having five distinct groups inhabiting the Tower, each having its own language; with this number we’ve achieved a nice level of dramatic stakes while still ensuring accessibility for all players. These original languages were created by combining cultural knowledge, research and artistic design. In addition to his interest in linguistics, and graphic communication, our director’s expertise in design was brought into play during the development of this game. We created a variety of languages by combining linguistic and graphic systems such as Phoenician Hangeul, Sanskrit and Futhark with Korean Hangeul, Cistercian and Korean Hangeul.
