Celebrate 20 years of Xbox with over 70 new Backward Compatible Games

Today, we’re excited to add 70+ Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to our backward compatibility catalog in celebration of our 20Th anniversary.You can also find your favorite favorites here, such as:

  • All of Max Payne’s series as well as the F.E.A.R. franchise are now available on Xbox Series X The entire Max Payne series and the F.E.A.R. franchises are now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles for the very first time.
  • With the addition of Skate 2S consoles and Xbox One are compatible.|S and Xbox One consoles.
  • Also, we heard that people wanted more Xbox games to add to our catalog. Xbox Series X, Series S and Series X are best for backward compatible games

A core tenet since the very beginning of the backward compatibility program has been to not only preserve the games you know and love, but also to enhance them using the latest technology so they look and play better than ever before while still staying true to the original creator’s vision. These improvements breathed new life in classic games.|S, we introduced innovations and improvements such as FPS Boost, Auto HDR, and faster loading times, which breathed new life into classic titles.

  • Original Xbox games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles on supported displays.
    • Xbox One X and Xbox Series X have a 4x increase in resolution
    • Xbox Series S: 3x Resolution Increase
    • Xbox One S and Xbox One offer 2x higher resolutions
  • FPS Boost will give players smoother gameplay with 11 new titles. This boost doubles the framerate to up 60 FPS. F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. 3, Binary Domain, NIER.
  • FPS Boost has been enabled on 26 additional titles in the current catalog, including the most requested titles like the whole Gears of War franchise, Fallout 3,New Vegas: Fallout, Elder Scrolls IV – Oblivion, Dragon Age: The Origins, Dead Space 2 & 3, Alan Wake Sonic Generations.
  • FPS Boost will be available to 33 games via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), which includes some previously improved titles on Xbox Series X|S including Fallout 4 Fallout 76 The Evil Within

Players can easily toggle FPS Boost as well as Auto HDR on or off under the “Manage Game” section for any title. You can choose how to enjoy your favorite games in the original or enhanced version with Auto HDR, FPS Boost and FPS Boost.
