Cars on the Road will feature a Mad Max: Fury Road spoof

AutomobilesThe RoadThe new series is called. Automobiles, Pixar’s 2006 animated film, debuts Sept. 8 on Disney Plus. Although the new trailer showcases many fun adventures with Lightning McQueen’s pal Mater in this series, there is one standout vignette: Mad MaxFury Road spoof.

That is correct. You see it as Vehicles on the Road will be getting an episode — or at least several scenes — dedicated to George Miller’s 2015 masterpiece, Mad Max: Fury Road.

Halfway through the trailer, an Australian-accented car and various metal augments start threatening Lightning or Mater. Next, the trailer shows cars very similar to those used in. Fury RoadSpikes are also available for cars that spew flames and have a spout. There’s even a big truck with a massive speaker and little buggies banging on oil drums, similar to the musical truck the guitar-slinging Doof Warrior rides on in Fury Road.

It’s a really wild thing to see spoofed in a kid’s TV show based off of a kid’s movie. But you know what they say, you’re never too young to ride eternal, shiny, and chrome.

It is all part of a larger narrative Vehicles on the Road Mater has decided to make a round trip across the country to be at his sister’s wedding. Lightning agreed to go along. You can see other bizarre adventures like the car circus, the car T-Rex and the car… ghosts in this trailer. However, nothing on the scale of the Fury Road homage.

It is unclear how much Mad Max-related content the trailer will contain. Vehicles on the Road? Fans won’t be able to answer that until the series after the series debuts on Disney Plus in a little over a month.
