Call of the Wild: The Angler – Tips for Game Pass Fishing Success

If you’re ready to get fishing, grab your controller and settle in – you can either access the game with Xbox Game Pass or Game Pass for PC, or by buying one of the two available editions on the Microsoft Store. If you’re a fan of Call of the Wild: The Hunter, you’re probably already familiar with our open-ended virtual worlds, but if you’re new to our games, don’t worry – we’ve got some tips to help you get started.

Settle in

First, you need to find a good fishing spot – take a trip around the scenic reserves and find a location to set up your gear. Remember to take some time to enjoy the scenery and get settled in – both in game and in real life. When you’re comfortable, let yourself unwind and get ready for the fish to bite. As soon as the moment is right, hook and reel in the fish. It’s important to have patience, precision, and timing in order to land your fish. It’s also worth remembering that the environment influences the type of fish you encounter, so it’s good to explore and find out which species inhabit each locale. We really love the Norway Reserve, which is why we’ve included it for free for a limited time when you purchase either the Launch Edition or Deluxe Edition. You can also catch Atlantic Salmon, Zander and Asp. which grow up to 130 cm in length – legendary stuff! There’s also the possibility of going geocaching, and taking part in local scavenger hunts, so that you can experience even more of the expansive landscape.

Enjoy trying different spots for fishing in the reserve. You may be surprised at what you find. Instead of walking around the reserve, use an off-road Jeep to explore the area. You can navigate the waterways on a boat and fish from there. You should feel like you are at home, so set yourself up to suit your playing style and make you comfortable. After you’ve gotten to know your surroundings and the style of fishing you enjoy, it is time to update your equipment.
