Beyond Good And Evil 2 Creative Director Emile Morel Dies At 40

Emile Morel died at the age of 40 yesterday, confirmed to be Ubisoft Beyond Good and Evil 2’s creative director. 

IGN First reported yesterday the news after seeing tributes on LinkedIn. Ubisoft Montpellier released the following statement on LinkedIn about Morel’s death: 

We share with sadness the unexpected passing of Emile, our dear friend and co-worker. Sending our condolences worldwide to his family and friends. It is important to recognize the impact that Emile had on the different games in the studio’s rich history. Emile, for us was both a friend and an endless source of positivity. His passion for telling stories and his love of life was something we all appreciated. Emile will always be remembered for his contribution to BGE2 and we will not forget him. True Freedom Lies Beyond.”

Morel joined Ubisoft in 2009, according to his LinkedIn, and his credits in games include Rayman Legends and The Adventures of Tintin. He worked as an associate director on Beyond Good and Evil 2 and was promoted to Creative Director earlier this year. Kotaku).
