Bayonetta 3 gets a release date, new trailer on Nintendo Switch

Bayonetta 3Nintendo and PlatinumGames announce that the Nintendo Switch exclusive title will debut on October 28. A new trailer for the game also reveals new details about the long-awaited action game, including that it will feature multiple Bayonettas and a playable “witch-in-training” named Viola.

Viola is described as a “feisty” ally of Bayonetta and will bring a sword and her feline demon Cheshire into battle against the Homunculi. Bayonetta’s Demon Masquerade will allow her to summon large creatures such as giant tarantula and other nasty beasts, which she can use in combat.

Additional to the standard release, Bayonetta 3Nintendo will also be selling the Trinity Masquerade Edition to select retailers as well as its My Nintendo Store. The version includes a 200-page book of art and three cases that feature reversible artwork. Pre-order details are forthcoming, Nintendo says.

Originally announced at The Game Awards 2017, the sequel follows 2014’s Bayonetta 2, This was also adapted to Nintendo Switch along with the original Bayonetta(February 2018). Original BayonettaSwitch users will be able to get an exclusive physical version of the game on September 30. Nintendo says a limited number of BayonettaPhysical copies of the game will be available at selected retailers, and via My Nintendo Store starting at $29.99
