Baldur’s Gate 3 Release Date Lands In August 2023

Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch in August 2023 according to Larian Studios, which was announced tonight during The Game Awards. Along with the announcement came a trailer and information about the Collector’s Edition.

The Collector’s Edition includes a 25-centimeter Mindflayer vs. Drow battle diorama made from high-quality PVC/ABS plastic, an approximately 160-page hardcover art book, character sheets, a cloth map, a tadpole keyring, 32 die-cut stickers, three Magic: The Gathering booster packs featuring characters from Baldur’s Gate 3, an oversized metal Baldur’s Gate 3 D20 die, and a Collector’s Edition certificate. This Collector’s Edition is limited to just 25,000 copies worldwide and costs $270.

Larian will make Patch 9 available prior to the launch of August 20231.0. It will offer several enhancements to the Early Access version as well as a new playable character. The details will be announced during the December 14th special streamed panel.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is in Early Access from 2020. This August 2023 release window will be a long wait. Since that Early Access launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has achieved a “very positive” rating on Steam user reviews, with nearly 50,000 reviews logged as of this writing. Steam claims that version 1.0 will be available for all classes, races, and almost all spells. Dungeons & Dragons Handbook for PlayersThis includes Acts 2, 3 and 4 of Baldur’s Gate 3.
