Back to the Frontline: Introducing Sniper Elite 5

We’re extremely excited to reveal the first look at the latest installment of our award-winning series, Sniper Elite 5, and delighted that so many of you will get to play it as it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch as well as digital and physical releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S!

We have some suggestions. Sniper Elite 5?

With D-Day imminent and France being set up in 1944 Sniper Elite 5Players will reprise their roles as an elite marksman, SOE Operative and SOE Operative Lt. Karl Fairburne. Karl is attached to a covert US Ranger operation to provide Sniper support as they seek to weaken the Nazis’ Atlantikwall fortifications along the coast of Brittany. Karl finds himself stranded behind enemy lines and is forced to travel inland with the French Resistance. There, they discover a Nazi secret project which threatens the end of the war, codenamed Operation Kraken.

It’s up to you to take out the high ranking Nazi officers in a bid to uncover the plans behind Operation Kraken and destroy it before it can begin.

You will battle the Third Reich on the most immersive, interactive, and engaging maps of the Sniper Elite series. We are very conscious of the authenticity of these maps, which were based on real-world locations.

This would normally involve multiple trips to the location in order to obtain information, provide reference imagery and get an overall impression of the area. Although travel restrictions have been severe in recent years due to the pandemic, we were able to use amazing photogrammetry and our previous location visits to create stunning environments.

It is also an honor to have the opportunity to partner with such amazing organizations as Royal Armories and Imperial War Museum. We are able to use their knowledge and insight to make sure that our game remains authentic and accurate to historical locations.

Key to that gameplay experience is the franchise’s unparalleled tactical sniping, complete with our authentic ballistics. The game now offers customizable options that allow you to customize your rifle and other weapons to match your style and mission. You will love it, we think.
