Available Now: Get Frosty in Halo Infinite’s Winter Update
The Winter Update Halo Infinite is here, bringing the largest feature update to both the game’s campaign and free-to-play multiplayer since launching last year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and Steam. Today’s launch allows players to jump into the highly-anticipated Forge Beta, Campaign Network Co-Op & Mission Replay. Players also get the chance to earn rewards with the Battle Pass at no cost (30 tiers).
Here’s a quick look at all the new content available in today’s update:
- Forge Beta: Halo’s legendary creation tool is back and more powerful than ever, boasting a vast suite of additions and improvements to empower community cartographers with advanced and accessible tools. Launch of The Forge Beta includes six canvas maps and a visual scripting engine. It also features object scaling, bot support. There are huge budget increases. File sharing is possible. - Match XP & New Battle PassWinter Update: This is the initial major step towards evolving Halo Infinite’sMatch XP Beta offers progression. Match XP is based upon player feedback. Players who complete matches are awarded additional XP (e.g. loss or win, place at the end of a game, etc.). Each Match XP reward level will have its own beta period. The values of each match will be closely monitored to ensure that they are optimized for higher earn rates. Try it out with the Winter Update’s free, never-expiring, 30-tier Battle Pass that features fan-favorite Reach for Halo-themed cosmetics.
- New Multiplayer Maps & Game Mode: Two new multiplayer arena maps — Argyle and Detachment — are added to the rotation, both built entirely within Forge. Argyle has a tightly-constructed indoor map that is located within narrow corridors on a UNSC vessel. Detachment can be found atop a rocky ridge and is an abandoned UNSC facility. Covert One-Flag’s new mode is an original variant of one-flag CTF. The attacking team has Active Camo and the defense team has Threat Sensors.
- Campaign Network Co-Op & Mission Replay: Whether you’re stepping into the legendary Mjolnir-clad boots of the Master Chief for the first time or making your return to Zeta Halo, you can jump in with up to three of your friends and experience the epic Halo InfiniteCampaign Network Co-Op lets you campaign together. Cross-play is supported across all Xbox devices and PC, and progress and unlocks are shared across all players — everyone benefits! You can replay the TACMAP missions if you wish to go back to an earlier part or to collect any other collectibles.
