Asteroid City trailer: Wes Anderson teams with Tom Hanks, aliens

It’s a good year for Wes Anderson fans, as 2023 sees not one, but two new movies from the celebrated filmmaker slated to hit our screens. The first is Asteroid CityThis is a story about parents and students who arrive in a fictional town in America in 1950s America in order to participate in junior astronomy conventions… and aliens.

Asteroid City boasts the usual who’s who we’ve come to expect from Wes Anderson casts. Tilda Swant, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe are some of the regular players. But there are new faces to the world of Wes Anderson, too: Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Steve Carell, and most excitingly, Hong Chau, who seems like a perfect fit for Anderson’s particular brand of dialogue and humor. Among the other cast members are Scarlett Johansson (Jeff Goldblum), Adrien Brody and Liev Schreiber as well as Maya Hawke, Sophia Lillis and Tony Revolori.

Asteroid City is Anderson’s first feature since French Dispatch. His other scheduled 2023 release is a Netflix adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Henry Sugar: The Amazing Story“, with Ralph Fiennes, Benedict Cumberbatch and Dev Patel as the stars
