Assassin’s Creed Mirage Reveal Trailer Released, Game Releasing In 2023

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage exists, following numerous leaks in the past few weeks. Ubisoft showed Mirage a lot during the Ubisoft Forward presentation today, as expected. This included information about its protagonist and setting.

If you have been keeping an eye on leaks or rumors you probably already know what Mirage is. This will become doubly true after today’s presentation. Basim IbnIshaq is the leader of this group. He was the master assassin in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Mirage, however, takes place many years prior to Valhalla. He’s a young, unemployed thief who lives in Baghdad. Basim will discover the Hidden Ones during 861. This was a time when Baghdad was at the forefront of science, arts, and trade around the globe.

Shohreh Aghdashloo (Emmy-winning actress) will voice his mentor Roshan. She’ll help him transform from street thief into an apprentice assassin.

Ubisoft’s presentation revealed Mirage as a return back to the roots Assassin’s Creed. It was heavily inspired by the original game. Gone are the multicolored loot, giant sprawling maps, and dozens of questlines and side quests. Mirage is a linear action-adventure game set in the ultra-dense city of Baghdad, where the series’ three main pillars – stealth, parkour, and assassination – take the spotlight once more.

Mirage’s return to form is accompanied by all-new parkour animations, such as the Pole Vault move, and old favorites like the corner swing. Basim can still climb basically everything as Bayek, Kassandra, and Eivor could, but his parkour will be the smoothest and most fluid in the series in years. Basim will now be able walk the streets of Baghdad’s main neighborhoods, as well as the archer-ridden rooftops.

As Basim progresses through the ranks of the Hidden Ones, he’ll unlock more skills to help him in his fight against the Order of the Ancients (and his nightmarish visions and mysterious background). Basim will also be able to upgrade his weaponry with smoke bombs and mines as well as throwing knives, throw darts, blow darts, smoke alarms, noisemakers, and the hidden knife (although he may lose a few fingers).

Assassin’s Creed Unity’s black boxes missions have returned, giving Mirage more freedom than previous Assassin’s Creeds. Similar to the original Assassin’s Creed players will be assigned target missions at Alamut Castle (the Hidden Ones’ under construction Persian fortress), where they’ll make their first appearance in-game. Basim will have to use Enkidu his Aquila Heliaca Eagle as his eyes on the sky. However, he will need to be alert for special archers who can take Enkidu down from the roofs of Baghdad.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage doesn’t yet have a release date. However, Ubisoft states that it’s expected to be released sometime in the next year.
