Armored Core 6 patch nerfs the Zimmermans and Songbirds, RIP
FromSoftware has released a patch for Fires of Rubicon: Armored Core 6.On Thursday, the laser nerf hit three long overdue targets. Your SG027 Zimmerman shotguns and Songbirds grenade launching devices will be sadly missed.
Patch 1.03.1 has affected all of these boss-killers. Armored Core 6.. Probably with good reason, too — the Zimmermans in particular were a notoriously overused option, and the nerfs feel justified. Here’s how FromSoftware describes the balance adjustment to the Zimmerman and two other ol’ reliables:
- Shotgun “SG-027 Zimmerman”: decreased Attack Power/Impact/Accumulative Impact/Direct Hit Adjustment
- Grenade Cannon “Songbirds”: decreased Attack Power/Impact/Accumulative Impact. Rounds now explode upon reaching their Effective Range, even if they don’t make contact
- Stun Needle Launcher “VE-60SNA”Reduced Impact/Accumulative impact/Direct hit adjustment/Attack power on successive attacks
Those adjustments certainly don’t make the Zimmerman, Songbirds, and Stun Needle Launcher You can’t help but laugh at the idiots who are unable to understand anything., so if you have experience using them, you’re probably going to be OK — but the nerfs do have an impact on their extreme effectiveness.
FromSoftware made similar adjustments to other weapons as well. Armored Core 6.., increasing round count and projectile speeds, as well as lowering reload time for a whole bunch of other stuff, that’s not one of the three OP weapons mentioned. This is good news for handgun users, who will be able to take more ammunition into the battle. These buffs and nerfs should lead to a greater variety of builds.
Check your build carefully. Many boosters now have increased upward thrust. This means you can expect to spend more time flying.
