Apex Legends’ Gaiden event offers anime-inspired skins, official VTubers

Apex Legends’ new event, called Gaiden, kicks off Tuesday, and brings One Piece, Naruto, and other anime-inspired skins to Respawn’s battle royale.

Over 40 items are new to this event. There are over 40 new items that have been themed to the event. Four skins, and one gun skin, were inspired directly by anime. Octane is getting an a. One Piece skin, Wattson getting a Naruto skin, Mirage getting a My Hero AcademiaRevenant, skin being a Neon Genesis Evangelion skin.

The trailer for Gaiden, which features a two-minute epic battle between the Legends Mecha Revenant and the Legends, also includes these skins. Wattson launches her Kamehameha, and several Legends are featured in the video. Beautifully animated, it’s the kind of thing that makes you really hope an Apex LegendsAnimation is in development somewhere.

Bangalore appears in her Apex Commander prestige complexion, with multiple transformable options, at the end. The skin can be unlocked in-game by fans who collect all 40 Gaiden objects. One they unlock the first tier of the skin, they’ll gain challenges to unlock the second and third tiers, which will remain active past Aug. 2.

Last but not least, Apex VTuber avatars will be revealed at the event. Download your own VTuber avatar in the style of Octane, Mirage or Bangalore starting July 19. Respawn provides instructions to fans who wish to create their own VTuber avatars.

Apex Legends’ Gaiden event will run from July 19 to Aug. 2, with two different reward tracks and limited-time rewards. You can choose to run the first track from July 19-27, and the second one will continue throughout the entire event.
