Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets cooking and more food to grow

OK, Nintendo — I think players are ready to forgive the developer for the dearth of Animal Crossing – New HorizonsThe past year has seen a lot of content. During the Animal Crossing Direct on Friday, Nintendo announced a ton of new content to bring players back to their islands — and the new cooking and food items look delicious.

There’s so much to unpack in just these two features, but we’ll start cooking. It’s unlockable with the Be a Chef! Purchase DIY Recipes+ using Nook Miles. It looks like there’ll be pages of recipes and incredible looking food to create — stuff like veggie soup, sandwiches, bread, and fish. How many ingredients are there to make these delicious meals? Nintendo will be expanding gardening. Now, players can grow potatoes, carrots, sugarcane, wheat and tomatoes for their dishes.

It sounds like it’ll work like pumpkin growing, which was added in 2020. Pumpkin starters are necessary to kick things off, sold by Leif and at Nook’s Cranny. You can, basically, just set the pumpkins down and let them grow — but watering them produces more. Don’t forget to take care of your garden, people.

Sure, you can eat the food that you’ve created, but it’s also going to be perfect for decorations and laying out in cozy scenes around New HorizonsInsels
