Amy Hennig Is Working On A Narrative-Driven Action-Adventure Marvel Game With Skydance Media

Amy Hennig (former director for Uncharted) has disclosed that she’s currently working with Skydance Media to create a Marvel video game. 

Skydance has hired Hennig to lead a new divisionThe studio has been working on stories-focused games since 2019, and now, we have more information about the first game she worked on there. Although we are aware that it is a Marvel title, it is currently unannounced. This means there is no way to know which heroes or villains it might be. But we know exactly what it will offer. 

Skydance New Media is the interactive new division of Skydance Media. Amy Hennig (awarded-winning writer/director) announced today that she has partnered with Marvel Entertainment in order to create a blockbuster narrative-driven action-adventure title. It will feature a unique story and take on Marvel Universe. Press ReleaseReads. “This marks the first initiative from the new AAA game studio, which was formed by Hennig and Electronic Arts veteran Julian Beak to pioneer a new category of story-focused interactive entertainment – a groundbreaking convergence of games, film, and television.”

Blockbuster narrative-driven action-adventure sound a lot like Uncharted. Hennig looks right at ease with the game. 

Skydance claims to have assembled a “qualified crew of developers with decades-long AAA experience in adventure and action gaming,” along with consultants from film, TV, and comics. According to the press release, Skydance’s team is focused on developing “high-fidelity interactive experiences that are rich in interaction for both traditional and emerging gaming platforms.” 

Hennig stated that Marvel was the perfect partner for their first game. Marvel Universe exudes all of my love for pulp adventure and is perfect for creating interactive games. To be able tell a story that is original with the same humanity, complexity and humor that make Marvel characters so beloved and for our players to play these heroes it’s a privilege.”
