Alan Wake 2 Is Coming In October

Alan Wake 2 made an appearance at the PlayStation Showcase today. As you may have guessed, there were a number of unanswered questions in the trailer. It did, however, answer one very important question: When will the game be released? 

Alan must be trapped…somewhere. He says he must write in order to get out. This is supposedly because the members of a cult are chasing everyone and attacking them within a radius of 50 miles. Alan is writing about the police investigation into the death of Robert Nightingale, one of the antagonists of the first game. The trailer is split into three different perspectives, one for Alan, and two others, including James McCaffrey (of Max Payne fame), who voiced the investigator in this case. It’s notable that in Alan Wake 2, we will play two different characters: Alan of course but also one of investigators, who is a woman. 

It ends by announcing the date for release: October 17th, 2023. 

Alan Wake 2, originally revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, was announced via a trailer. It’s the first time that we have seen this game.
