A New Ghost Recon Game Has Entered Development

Ghost Recon Breakpoint updates ended Wednesday April 5, 2015. On the official Twitter account of Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a tweet stated that “We will continue our servers Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint. And we really hope you will continue enjoying the game and having fun playing solo or in co-op mode with your buddies.” Despite Breakpoint’s end, a new Ghost Recon game has entered development.

Based on KotakuCodenamed OVER, this is the bombastic next chapter in Tom Clancy’s military history. According to reports, the title is in development for more than a year and may launch in 2023. The fandom may find this quick turnaround to be positive. Ghost Recon has not had the same success in recent years as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six or The Division. Ubisoft introduced the NFT-based Quartz beta to Breakpoint’s cosmetic system. This could have led to some dissatisfaction among its players.

Frontline is the only mainline Ghost Recon game that has been announced. It features “an epic first-person PVP shooting experience with incredible 100+ player battles.” The action takes place in a Drakemoor Island sandbox. More information on the live-service gaming experience can be found here. The XDefiant project is also in the works. It might be worth considering whether the live-service system could become a part of the mysterious OVER. We will only know the outcome of this experiment when it comes to reality.
