Foundation for The Death and Life of Sir BranteThe groundwork for the project was laid on the first day of 2018 by Fyodor Slusarchuk, a game designer and teacher. He had the idea to make the role-playing game, which is set in the Blessed Arknian Empire realm, a fully-fledged online game.

This project could grow to be a long-running story about a man who was born into an unjust and ruthless world. The player, as their alter-ego, will experience life-changing choices and social upheavals. The sheer scale of the game’s core ideas dictated the choice of genre. It was impossible to bring such an array of characters, events and branches to the game’s core ideas to life through a narrative-driven text RPG.

Sir Brante was the first person to create the universe he lives in. An entire set of RPGs was created in the Blessed Arknian Empire. The world of videogames has given new life to its culture, religion and history. This bizarre and brutal realm will be the setting for the tragedy of Sir Brante.

This is a society where absolutism has reached its peak: the will of the ruling gods is unquestionable, and a commoner’s lot is to toil away and suffer. There is a harsh punishment for any violation of the divine law, in both life and death. But even this world is subject to change. The old age may soon end. As a kid, you will see your hero play an integral part in the monumental events.

The game takes you on an adventure that starts at the very beginning of life — a little boy born in a dangerous medieval realm, split at the seams, governed by powerful nobles, and ruled over by the all-seeing Twin Gods. Live and grow alongside Sir Brante, dictate his choices and mistakes, and see it all unfold on the enchanting pages of the protagonist’s journal.

Every choice made here matters — from breaking family bonds to rewriting the established laws of the universe. You will be Sir Brante’s guide, but where is your story? There are many options, but you have the right to make your own decision. You can endure great hardships and encounter love and strife, and you will be able to open the door and close the gate to your future.

The harsh life in the Great Arknian Empire can be difficult. Your birth circumstances will determine your chances of success. As a commoner you are without rights or title. It is necessary to confront the prejudices and outdated traditions that have shaped your life and make the Brante family the rightful heir. You will be embarking on an unending journey that spans from birth to death. Not only will every decision affect the protagonist’s family and friends, but it may also impact the foundation of Empire.

The turn of the clock
The estate determines the fate of every imperial citizen. This truth has been bestowed by the Twin Gods, who divide mortals into Lots. The clergy directs people along the right path. Meanwhile, the Nobles are the ones who lead, while the Clergy is the guide. While you may be content with your destiny, it’s also within your control to alter the cosmic order which governs everyone.

You can make the right choice.
The game is divided into chapters. Each chapter keeps track of player’s actions, skills, and other circumstances. This creates a new plotline each time you play. Each decision will have its consequences, and you’ll be accountable for them throughout their journey. To protect your family and loved ones, to impose the rule of the Emperor and make a fortune, or to try and change the world as you see fit… Make your choice, but beware of the follies of pride and ambition.

Fight for your life
Although one man can’t be all things to all men in this world, with your help Sir Brante might become an individual who can endure whatever fate may throw at him. Your character can be developed and trained, increasing your sensitivity and endurance. Every skill of the hero, beginning with his infancy skills, will impact his personality and worldview. This can lead to new talent and potential storylines.

Follow your path
A complete walkthrough could take up to 15 hours. Each playthrough is unique because of all the different paths and connections that influence the story. For example, you can be a noble judge or learn about the laws of inquisition. Your fate will be kind to you if you are brave.

You are here and thereafter
You can use the Resurrection system to allow your character to preserve his experiences upon death. It allows you to review past actions and adapt your strategy for the future. You can take control of not only your death but your entire life, and then you will be able to participate in the cycle of death/rebirth.
