Destiny 2: The Witch Queen’s reputation grinds will be much faster
Destiny 2 It is all about grinding, and does so well. Destiny, like many great grindy games, can get tedious. You can find out more about Destiny here. The Witch QueenBungie launches expansion on February 22, and will revamp some of its existing products. Destiny 2’s reputation systems, shortening the grind for all.
In Thursday’s Destiny blog post, Bungie showcased a host of changes coming to the game’s reputation system next month. For those not in the know, playing ritual playlists (Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit) gives reputation, allowing players to rank up the activity’s associated vendor and get some sweet rewards. Players who do more than one activity at a time will be rewarded with a streak.
Power gains, resources, and the seasonal ritual weapon are all locked behind reputation, but Bungie thinks it’s taking players a bit too long to chew through those ranks. You can start in The Witch QueenVanguard reputation will double in speed and be even more responsive to streaks. Additionally, nightfalls will be able to get better completion bonuses and multipliers.
Trials of Osiris will also get a reputation boost based on how many rounds players won in a particular match — incentivizing players to try even if they’re losing. The Summoner auto rifle will also return to the activity next season, alongside a new weapon Bungie isn’t talking about yet.
Bungie is largely happy with the Crucible’s reputation speed. Bungie is looking forward to seeing how the Crucible reputation changes, especially with Iron Banner receiving an upgrade. Gambit ranks-ups can be slower than Bungie would like, especially with Strikes getting an upgrade in the near future. However, Gambit rework is coming in. The Witch QueenThe studio won’t close until all dust has settled.
Despite all of these changes, Bungie won’t be updating the finicky streak system or changing how players can unlock the playlist specific ornaments for the ritual weapon (locked behind two reputation resets). The studio admitted that it knows players don’t like the current path to those rewards, but it’s hoping the above reputation changes will make a big difference.
Bungie will also be converting the Strike playlist to the Vanguard Op playlist. The Strikes that are currently available and those coming in will be added to this playlist. The Witch QueenStudio will now add the Battlegrounds of Season of the Chosen: Hailstone (Behemoth), Oracle, Hailstone (and Foothold) to the mix. The standard Battlegrounds, which are not champion versions of Strike will now be available. Players will also be able complete Strike bounties as well as Triumphs within these Battlegrounds.
Bungie has finally changed Nightfalls. Incoming changes to boss-specific modifiers The Witch QueenPlayers will now get an elemental burn modifier. Season 16 will see the seasonal Strike modifiers move to Nightfalls, with rotating Glaive themes and Void themes. Duty Bound and Silicon Neuroma — two past Nightfall rewards — will also make their return on Feb. 22. Bungie has implemented new technology that allows players to choose difficult situations in open worlds, so the Daily Lost Sector won’t be divided between Legend and Master anymore.
All of these changes should make for a more streamlined Destiny that won’t waste player’s time on reputation grinds. The players will know when they are. The Witch QueenLater next month, expansion will be launched.
